Thick Skin

My process of creation emerges from the dark space of life's traumas. I use my art practise as a way for me to find a sense of polarity, to seek understanding of myself.

As I navigate through my experiences my intention is to find the light and be gentle with myself and the world around me. Using this medium and this style of creation helps me slow down and grounds me in the present. I find that being present stops me from falling backwards into the past or feeling anxious about what lies ahead.

Being still for hours transports me into a meditative state. I gain entry to an altered state of conscious self. A place where the true joy of creation lies and answers to my questions can be found.

My desire in art is never to just show art on a wall. It is a way to open a dialogue for people within themselves and meaningfully engage with their environment.
